DAY 01 - DELHI
Right from the arrival of your flight in Delhi, the capital
of India, you will get a feeling of warmth and affability. A
North India Culture and Heritage Tour representative will take
you to a renowned hotel in the city wherein you can just relax
and prepare yourself for a big tour ahead.
DAY 02 - DELHI
The second day of the tour involves a voyage in Delhi, the
city that presents an awe-inspiring amalgamation of the old
and the new, the traditional and the ultramodern.
In the morning pay a visit to the attractions and bazaars of
Old Delhi. Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat, Shanti Vana and
Chandni Chowk. After lunch, proceed for an exploration of the
must-see sites in New Delhi that include Bahai Temple, Qutub
Minar, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, etc. Stay in the hotel
for the night.
DAY 03 - DELHI - NEEMRANA
After early breakfast, North India Culture and Heritage
Tour moves to Neemrana in Rajasthan. On arrival, check-in at
a pre-booked hotel. In the afternoon, visit the 16th century
military step well built here. The well is 11 storeys deep.
Roam around in the villages of Neemrana and get a feel of Indian
culture. Overnight stay in the hotel.
DAY 04 - NEEMRANA - JAIPUR
From Neemrana undertake a three-hour journey by road to
Jaipur, the city founded in 1727 AD by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh.
Get lodged at a five-star hotel in the Pink City and get set
for a memorable sojourn. Enjoy an elephant ride to the impregnable
Amber Fort.
Then, pay a visit to the City Palace, Jaigarh and Nahargarh
Forts, the astronomical observatory Jantar Mantar and the Palace
of Winds or the Hawa Mahal. Stay in the hotel for the night.
DAY 05 - JAIPUR - MUKANDGARH
In the morning drive to the Shekhawati region of Mukandgarh.
It'll take you about four hours from Jaipur. After settling
down in your hotel, proceed for a visit to the Mukandgarh Fort,
the biggest attraction of this place. All through the villages,
you will find houses adorned with frescoes and paintings that
are more than 200 years old. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 06 - MUKANDGARH - BIKANER
Another four-hour drive takes you to the next destination
of your North India Culture and Heritage Tour, Bikaner. Founded
in 1488 AD, Bikaner is often referred to as the city of camels.
On arrival, proceed for a visit to the Fortress of Junagarh.
This fort had quite a few magnificent palaces and verdant lawns
that make for a beautiful sight.
In the evening visit Bikaner's Camel Breeding Research Farm,
the largest of its kind in Asia. You can also try some shopping
here. Overnight in the hotel.
DAY 07 - BIKANER - DESHNOK - KHIMSAR
After breakfast leave for Khimsar, another beautiful town
in Rajasthan. En route, pay a visit to the Deshnok Rat Temple,
which is more than 600 years old. On reaching Khimsar, check-in
at a heritage hotel booked for you by North India Culture and
Heritage Tour. The town of Khimsar was founded by Lord Mahavira
in the year 500 BC.
In the afternoon you can go for a jeep safari on an expedition
through the serene villages of Khimsar. Visit the sand dunes
and watch the sunset from there. It is a spectacular sight indeed.
Return to your hotel in Bikaner for an overnight stay.
DAY 08 - BIKANER - JAISALMER
Have breakfast in your Bikaner hotel and then leave for
Jaisalmer. Arrive in Jaisalmer A North India Culture and Heritage
Tour representative will be there to guide you throughout. Relax
for the rest of the day in the hotel itself.
DAY 09 - JAISALMER
The desert city of Jaisalmer is full of forts and temples.
The invincible Jaisalmer Fort is home to more than 5000 people.
There are shops adorned throughout the small lanes inside the
fortress. From the top of the palace, the city looks simply
incredible. The yellow sandstone glows when the rays of the
sun fall on it, making the sight all the more splendid.
Also visit the various havelis of Jaisalmer and the very famous
sand dunes. Do not miss the enjoyment of a camel ride through
the desert areas of the city. Return to your hotel for the night.
DAY 10 - JAISALMER - JODHPUR
In the morning leave for Jodhpur. The journey will take
you five hours. Built by Rao Jodha on the advice of a saint,
Jodhpur is a city of palaces and forts. Visit the Umaid Bhawan
Palace, which has been converted into a heritage hotel.
In the afternoon, go to the 125-meter high Mehrangarh Fort and
the Jaswant Thada. Do some shopping in the famous Sardar Market
of Jodhpur. Return to the hotel for a night stay.
DAY 11 - JODHPUR - RANAKPUR - MOUNT ABU
Leave for a voyage to Mount Abu, the only hill station in
Rajasthan, on the 11th day of your North India Culture and Heritage
Tour. En route, pay a visit to the famous 15th century Jain
Temple in Ranakpur. This temple is known for its exquisiteness.
Consisting of 80 domes that are supported by more than 1400
carved pillars, the temple is built in pure white marble.
Continue your road journey to Mount Abu. Check-in at a hotel
and spend the night there.
DAY 12 - MOUNT ABU
Next morning, go to the Shiva Temple, situated at a height
of 1533 meters, the highest point in Mount Abu. Also visit the
11th century Dilwara Temple. This temple houses thin marble
structures, carved out of pure white marble. It is indeed a
marvel of architecture.
In the evening, reach the sunset point if you wish to view a
spectacular sight. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 13 - MOUNT ABU - DUNGERPUR
After Mount Abu, leave for Dungerpur by road. You will cross
quite a few tribal villages on your way. Check-in at a star
category heritage hotel after reaching Dungerpur. Visit the
famous Juna Mahal and get a feel of royalty, which still seems
to reign the palaces. Stay in the hotel for the night.
DAY 14 - DUNGERPUR - UDAIPUR
Undertake a two-hour road journey to Udaipur, also known
as the City of Lakes. Surrounded by the fascinating Aravalli
Hills and made up of numerous lakes, the city of Udaipur can
be easily termed as the most splendid city of Rajasthan.
After arrival and check-in, proceed for local sightseeing. Visit
the City Palace, the 17th century Jagdish Temple, Jag Mandir
and Sahelion Ki Bari. The lifeline of the city, Lake Pichola,
is the most renowned lake in Udaipur. Enjoy a folk music and
dance performance in the evening before returning to the hotel
for the night.
DAY 15 - UDAIPUR - CHITTORGARH - BIJAIPUR
From Udaipur proceed to Bijaipur. On the way, you will come
across the largest fort in India - the Chittorgarh Fort. Built
by the warring clan of Sisodia Rajputs, the 5000-year old fortress
is located at a height of 180 meters.
The Meera Temple, Jain Temple and Shiva Temple surround the
fort, as does the Victory Tower, built in the 15th century.
Proceed to Bijaipur and check into a popular hotel here. The
castles and palaces here are magnificent, to say the least.
Relax in the hotel for the rest of the day.
DAY 16 - BIJAIPUR - KOTA
On the morning of the 16th day of your North India Culture
and Heritage Tour leave for a sojourn to Kota. The Chambal River
looks scenic as you stand beside the Barrage. Visit the Rao
Madho Singh Museum that has an interesting collection of artifacts
and armory and the Chambal Gardens. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 17 - KOTA - BUNDI - RANTHAMBORE
Post breakfast, leave for Ranthambore, which is about 140
kilometers from here. On the way, pay a visit to the 14th century
Taragarh Fort in Bundi. Also see the Chitra Mahal and the Umeed
Mahal. Then, proceed to Ranthambore and on arrival, you will
get accommodation at a jungle resort.
DAY 18 - RANTHAMBORE
Best known for its reserve of tigers, the Ranthambore National
Park is one of the biggest in India. The park houses thousands
of animal and bird species. Tourists come here in large numbers
to see the endangered Royal Bengal Tigers.
The dense forests and the water bodies make Ranthambore an ideal
habitat for the inhabitants of this national park. Bird watching
is also an ideal pastime here. Return to the hotel for the night.
DAY 19 - RANTHAMBORE - KARAULI
Spend some part of the morning in the Ranthambore National
Park itself. Then, drive to Karauli, which is about three hours
from here. Visit the Karauli Temple there and do not miss a
camel ride through the villages that are soaked in Indian traditionalism.
Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 20 - KARAULI - FATEHPUR SIKRI - AGRA
From Karauli, the North India Culture and Heritage Tour
moves on the city of the Taj Mahal, Agra. The Mughal township
of Fatehpur Sikri is on the route. Founded by emperor Akbar
in the 16th century, Fatehpur Sikri now has quite a few ruins
of palaces and temples.
On arrival in Agra, check into a five-star hotel. Then, proceed
to visit the Taj Mahal. One of the Seven Wonders of the World,
the Taj is a matchless display of architectural brilliance.
Built by Shah Jahan after the death of the his beloved wife
Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is known as the monument epitomizing
timeless love. The magnificence of the Taj augments further
when the moonlight falls on the white marble. Return to your
hotel for night stay.
DAY 21 - AGRA - DELHI
In the morning, visit another Mughal structure, the renowned
Agra Fort. Made of red sandstone and white marble, this fort
has many beautiful palaces, gardens and the famous Musamman
Burj, where Shah Jahan breathed his last with his eyes fixated
on the Taj Mahal. The fort also houses a Garden of Grapes.
After the fort exploration, leave for Delhi. The road journey
will take four hours. In quick time you can explore some leftover
sites in Delhi, before proceeding to board a flight back home.
