Day 01: Mumbai
Arrive to a warm welcome in Mumbai. Thereafter, a Taj Hub representative
will escort you to your hotel. Relax for the remaining part of the day
and brace yourself for the exciting India - Northern Glory with us.
Day 02: Mumbai
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before driving to the Gateway of India.
This grand monument was built to welcome the Royal family of England
in 1914. Thereafter, take a ferry to the Elephanta Caves in the Arabian
Sea. After your return, enjoy an afternoon tour around Mumbai and its
various attractions. Visit the Prince Charles museum, tower of silence,
hanging garden and the Municipal Building. Return to the Hotel for overnight
stay.
Day 03: Mumbai - Aurangabad
After an early morning breakfast, drive to the Mumbai Central Railway
station to board the Tapovan Express to Aurangabad. You will arrive
at 1330 hours in Aurangabad. Thereafter, a Taj Hub representative will
facilitate your transfer to a hotel.
Speaking of Aurangabad, the city was built by the General of Aurangzeb
and was earlier known as Deccan. Rich in history, Aurangabad boasts
of many attractions like Bibi Ka Makbara & Daulatabad Fort. Enjoy
a sightseeing tour around the city before returning for an overnight
stay at hotel.
Day 04: Aurangabad
On day 4 of the India - Northern Glory tour, embark on a trip to the
Ellora & Ajanta Hindu, Buddhist & Jain sculpture caves. Return
for overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: Aurangabad - Mumbai
Explore the city of Aurangabad before transferring to the railway station
to board a train to Mumbai. On arrival transfer to the hotel for an
overnight stay.
Day 06: Mumbai - Udaipur
As part of the India - Northern Glory tour, transfer to the Mumbai domestic
airport and board a flight to Udaipur. On arrival, check in at a hotel
and rest awhile. Thereafter, enjoy a sightseeing tour around Udaipur,
also known as the "city of lakes". This beautiful city was
built by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 AD and is situated at a height
of 577 meters above sea level. Visit many of Udaipur's attractions like
the City palace, Sahelion Ki Bari, Maharana Pratap Museum and the Fateh
Sagar Lake. You will also be able to enjoy an afternoon boat cruise
on Lake Pichola. Later visit the Jag Mandir Island and the Meera Kala
Mandir as part of your India - Northern Glory tour with Taj Hub. Return
to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Udaipur - Ranakpur - Jodhpur
Right after breakfast, embark on a 285 km long journey to Jodhpur. Stop
to visit the 15th century Ranakpur Jain temple on the way. Built in
pure white marble, the temple is adorned by 1444 exquisitely carved
pillars. However, none of the pillars match the other. Enjoy a sumptuous
lunch in Ranakpur before continuing with your journey to Jodhpur. Check
in at a hotel for overnight stay in Jodhpur.
Day 08: Jodhpur
Enjoy a detailed sightseeing tour around Jodhpur after breakfast. Founded
by Rao Jodha in 1459 AD, the city boasts of many interesting attractions
like the Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and the Sadar Market Clock Tower.
Visit the Mandore garden in the evening and Visit a collection of royal cenotaphs, built in while marble, lies very close to the fort. Built in 1899, the cenotaph also houses portraits of rulers of Jodhpur. Return to the hotel for overnight
stay.
Day 09: Jodhpur - Jaipur
On day 9 of the India - Northern Glory tour, drive to the "pink
city" of Jaipur. Founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1727 AD,
Jaipur boasts of being the first planned city of India. Check into a
hotel on arrival and then set out to explore the city and its colorful
bazaars. Return for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10: Jaipur
Enjoy a full day of sightseeing in Jaipur on day 10 of the India - Northern
Glory tour. Visit the Hawa Mahal (palace of winds) before setting out
to explore the grand Amer Fort. An elephant ride up the steep entrance
of the fort is truly the highlight of the trip. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch
before setting out to visit the City Palace Museum, Jantar Mantar and
the local markets. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
Leave for Agra, which is located at a distance of 235 km away from Jaipur.
Stop to explore Fatehpur Sikri, the grand Mughal capital founded by
Akbar in 1569 AD. But unfortunately this magnificent city was abandoned
due to scarcity of drinking water. Thereafter, continue your drive to
Agra and check into a hotel on arrival.
Day 12: Agra
On day 12 of the India - Northern Glory tour, visit the Agra Fort, a
grand military structure built by the Mughals. You will then proceed
towards the ethereal Taj Mahal, which was built by Mughal Emperor Shah
Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Return to the hotel for
an overnight stay in Agra.
Day 13: Agra - Khajuraho
Board a flight to Khajuraho after breakfast. On arrival in Khajuraho,
check into a hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 14: Khajuraho
On day 14 of the India - Northern Glory tour, visit the Eastern &
Western group of temples that were built on sensuous themes in the ancient
period. These temples are probably one of the best examples of Indian
art and architecture. Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 15: Khajuraho - Varanasi
Board a flight to Varanasi in the morning. Check in at a hotel on arrival
and rest awhile. The holy city of Varanasi is one of the oldest cities
in the world and has been considered to be a excellent center learning
for over 2000 years. Visit the Kashi or Banaras Hindu University followed
by a visit to the Bharatmata temple. You will also be able to watch
the evening Arthi outside the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Return to the
hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 16: Varanasi - New Delhi
Early in the morning, enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges and see the morning
sun rising over the horizon. You can also watch thousands of people
congregating at the ghats to offer their morning prayers. Return to
the hotel for breakfast and then drive to the city of Sarnath where
the Buddha first preached his first sermon around 24 centuries ago.
In the afternoon, you will transfer to airport to board a flight to
New Delhi. On arrival transfer to a hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 17: Old & New Delhi
As part of the India - Northern Glory tour, enjoy a sightseeing tour
around New and Old Delhi after breakfast. Visit the Jama Masjid, Chandni
Chowk, Red Fort, Rajghat, Birla Temple, Parliament House, Presidential
House, India Gate and the Qutub Minar. You will also be a part of the
special dinner organized by Taj Hub, complete with cultural performances.
Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 18: Delhi
On the final day of the India - Northern Glory tour, spend a leisurely
morning before driving to the Indira Gandhi International airport to
board a flight back home.
